Essilor Launches Consumer Initiatives For Xperio UV Lenses

New website and Power of 3X program to educate consumers on the benefits of Xperio UV prescription polarized lenses and the importance of eye protection under the sun

Essilor of America has launched a redesigned website for Xperio UVTM lenses featuring easy-to-understand visuals and information to help consumers make an informed decision as they consider purchasing a pair of sunglasses. Website content provides details on the impact of UV rays on eye health and why it is essential to protect eyes when outside in the sun. Visitors will easily be able to use the online locator to find an eyecare professional near them that dispenses Xperio UV lenses.

“We know consumers are online doing their own research before buying sunglasses and the new look and feel of the Xperio UV website aims to bring greater awareness to the benefits of polarized sunwear,” said Lauri Crawford, senior vice president of marketing, Essilor of America. “The website provides content ECPs can easily share with their patients to show how Xperio UV lenses support their lifestyle.”

In addition, starting this April consumers will receive an incentive to purchase Xperio UV lenses through the Power of 3X rebate program. Through this promotion, participating independent ECPs will be able to offer their patients three times the original rebate—worth up to $90 back by mail—when they purchase a combination of Crizal® No-Glare, Transitions® Adaptive, and Varilux® progressive lenses, as well as a pair of Xperio UV prescription polarized lenses together during the same office visit.

Xperio UV lenses are a superior polarized lens brand, providing maximum UV protection by reducing the amount of glare from reflective surfaces on both the front and backside of the lens. The lenses provide an Eye-Sun Protection Factor (E-SPF) of 50+, meaning the eyes are 50 times better protected than they are without lenses. Failing to protect eyes against UV exposure can contribute to serious health issues, including skin cancer, premature age-related macular degeneration and cataracts, the leading cause of blindness worldwide.
